A very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel openface quarter repeating pair case keywound cylinder cabriolet watch, made for the Turkish market Signed Le Roy, Élève de Breguet, No. 5021, cases numbered L 5021, circa 1815 Gilded brass ruby cylinder movement, plain three arm brass balance with pare-chute suspension on the pivot, blued steel flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the regulator, quarter repeating on two polished steel hammers onto a gong, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Turkish numerals, outer railway minute divisions, blued steel hands, both cases decorated with gilt foliage and translucent scarlet champlevé enamel over engine-turned background, both backs centred by finely painted polychrome enamel scenes depicting seaside scenes in the Ottoman Empire, the pastel-coloured sky with translucent enamel sunray effect over engine-turned background, quarter repeating pull-twist push-piece in the pendant, cases and cuvette numbered, cuvette signed Le Roy Élève de Breguet, dial signed with Le Roy's Turkish signature 53.4 mm. diam.
