Large collection of individual issues and bound volumes of Scribner's Magazine, spanning the years of 1906-1924. The selected volumes feature artwork by N.C. Wyeth, generally on color and black and white plates accompanying works of fiction. Many other popular artists of the day are featured as well. Scribner's Magazine was launched in 1887, and was the first of any magazine to introduce color illustrations. The magazine contained many engravings by famous artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as many famous authors of that time. Present volumes include work by Robert Lewis Stevenson, Edith Wharton, Amy Lowell, and Sara Teasdale among many others. Collection sold as is. Individual issues include: November, December 1910 January, April 1911 June 1912 June 1913 August 1914 (lacking wrappers).
