Large Carved and Painted Odd Fellows Lodge Sign, probably Maine, 19th century, composed of three interlocking rings, crossed fraternal staffs, and the heart-in-hand, some carved in the round, with letters "F," "L," and "T" for Friendship, Love, and Truth, all on a black smalt ground, old weathered surface, lg. 94 1/4, ht. 29 3/4 in. Provenance: Kenneth & Ida Manko, Moody, Maine, May 2003, according to the Mankos, this sign was found in a Maine lodge which was being dismantled, and was, at the time they sold it to the present owner "probably the best all around sign [they had] had a chance to own."; A private Massachusetts collector.
