Includes one with 69 images, mainly Dakota, approx. half of which are sides of people and places, while second half are hymns and bible quotes in native language; PLUS second box with 53 images including Geromimo, several 1870's & 80's Sioux identified and unidentified but known, with image of the burial detail at Wounded Knee, Ampetu-Tokeca; PLUS box of 90 with images of Chief Gall, 2 different Sitting Bull, Spotted Tail, Short Bull, Rain In The Face, and Kicking Bear to name just a few; AND box with 26 slide images of mainly Sioux and 7 boxes of 4 x5" glass plate negatives most containg circa 15 negatives each, mostly from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, showing missionaries, and Native Americans. PLUS two acetate negatives of Chief Red Cloud, apparently unpublished. Many of the portraits are copies of published images, though more than half are original images. A fascinating group depicting reservation life and especially significant for the images of Native Americans and their material culture. Condition:Most are EXC, a few with cracked cover plates. Many of the negatives are damaged.
