Endter, 1690. 9 volumes including Nessel's supplement, 2 o (288 x 184 mm; supplement 322 x 199 mm). 198 engraved plates on 197 sheets, many folding, 6 printed tables, 5 folding, numerous full-page engravings in the text of the supplement, engraved vignettes, some pasted in (a few plates slightly shaved, some occasional spotting.) (Some intermittent pale spotting, supplement lightly browned, Y4 with small stain and some loss of letters.) Eighteenth-century blue morocco, triple gilt fillet on sides, spine gilt in compartments, edges gilt (small split at upper joint of vol. 1, spines darkened, some occasional minor scuffing and soiling). Provenance : possibly Mel de Saint Céran (sale 1791, lots 3034-5); Castle Howard (sale 3 February 1944); J.R. Abbey (bookplates, his sale Sotheby's 15 November 1966, lot 1148); Major Adrian L. McLaughlin (bookplates, his sale Sotheby Parke Bernet, Monaco, 7 October 1980, lot 1794). A FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION of the catalogue of the celebrated collection of manuscripts in the Imperial Library at Vienna. Lambeck's monumental undertaking was left unfinished at his death.
