In the background is the Commissary Wagon which has painted on the canopy "Commonweal of Christ - Commissary No. __" and can see "Washington" in part. Some of the men hold cups and pans out while the cook slices with a knife. Beside him is a partly cut melon on a crude board. As they marched, local towns people and farmers would give them food.
