Kriegszeit Künstlerflugblätter Wochenschrif. Berlin: Paul Cassirer, 1914-1916. German. Kriegszeit ("Wartime"), an entire set of the journal published in Berlin during World War I. The journal was edited by two Jews - Paul Cassirer, an editor, publisher and gallery owner who was an important figure in the dissemination of modern art in the early twentieth century, and Alfred Gold, a Viennese writer, historian and art critic. Kriegszeit was published as a weekly until issue no. 50, and thereafter twice a month until its publication was ceased. Printed entirely in lithographic printing, 4 pages per issue, and including works dealing exclusively with war. The journal includes some 200 lithographs in all. Artists whose lithographs were published include Ernst Barlach Max Beckmann Rudolf Grossman, Käthe Kollwitz Max Liebermann Hans Meid and Max Slevogt Issue no. 6 is devoted entirely to the works of Max Liebermann Issues 1-40 are bound together. Issues 41-65 are held in a portfolio as separate issues. 48 cm. Good condition.
