KOCH, Alexander, Georg FUCHS and F.H. NEWBWERY. L'Exposition internatinale des Arts Décoratifs Modernes a Turin 1902. Darmstadt: Koch, 1902. 4 o. Numerous photographic reproductions in text. Original gilt and white decorated vellum (some foxing to sides and edges). FIRST EDITION. The Turin Expostion of 1902 was the first to celebrate the emergence of the art nouveau style in Italy and the entire volume is devoted to that subject. Turin was a center of liberal ideas and creativity and thus a receptive environment for works by Behrens, Mackintosh, Olbrich, and others. Much of the work shown was of foreign origin but Italian artisan workshops and individual craftsmen such as Carlo Bugatti were exhibited. The binding itself reflects the Art Nouveau style.
