Turin was a center of liberal ideas and creativity and thus a receptive environment for works by Behrens, Mackintosh, Olbrich, and others. Much of the work shown was of foreign origin but Italian artisan workshops and individual craftsmen such as Carlo Bugatti were exhibited. The binding itself reflects the Art Nouveau style.
