Printed in the center of the leaf is an image created originally by Ephraim Moshe Lilien dedicated to the victims of the Kishinev pogroms. In this print, the inscription, the illustrated frame and Lilien's signature have been omitted. A handwritten dedication appears on the bottom of the leaf: "Kiddush Hashem …..dedicated to ….Dr. S. Feldman…. in gratitude from his friend for eternity David Avigdor…" (Hebrew). Rabbi David Avigdor, who wrote the dedication (b. 1897) was one of "Hamizrahi" leaders in Poland and of the founders of "HaShomer HaDati” in western Galicia; Rabbi of Andrychów since 1925. Fled to East Poland when Nazi occupation started. He perished in the Tarnow ghetto. 37X30 cm, fair-poor condition. Rough tears. Spotting and creases. Framed.
