Original ferules, original nose cap, toeplate with finial tipped. Early style lock. Early style short tang with a fleur de lis design. Early style roman nose with heavy thick butt, Maple stock, raised carving around the cheek piece blending with molding designs on the cheek piece then on the rear of the stock is a section of raised carving. Nice moldings and incised carved lines around the rear ferule and running down the stock parallel with the ramrod channel. Rev War period Ky Rifle (1770-1790) By Wolfgang Haga, Reading Pa. Condition: Barrel has a nice dark brown patina.. Rear portion of the barrel has some deep pitting around the touch hole. Lock may have been replaced, however it is the correct style and has been aged to properly match the barrel. Brass with nice untouched patina. Stock has been varnished over maintaining the original dark brown patina that has built up over the years. Ramrod is a replacement. Overall an excellent example of a Rev-War made rifle.
