Barrel held to stock by four wedges and tang screw. Engraved four-piece brass patchbox, brass triggerguard, brass molded edge on cheek piece, brass triggerguard, buttplate, toeplate, forestock plate, nosecap, and ramrod ferules. Silver inlays on the wrist and on cheek piece. Samuel Miller worked in Hamburg, Pennsylvania from 1823-1849. (See Sellers, 1983: 210) Condition: All metal is gunmetal grey with pitting. Brass has been cleaned to bright. Stock has been cleaned and has some nicks and dings. A petite rifle.
