Read more Kenneth Webb was born in London, 1927 and was educated at the College of Art Gloucester and Cheltenham. He then went on to become Head of Painting at Ulster College of Art, Belfast, between 1953 and 1960. His part time assistants included Tom Carr John Luke and Colin Middleton Webb has a deep connection with the colour in his paintings and he applies it in various manners depending on the subject of his painting. He is probably best known for his atmospheric and colourful paintings of wild flowers, plants, rocks and bog pools of Connemara but has painted many different themes during his long career from his 'Constable'-influenced scenes of the English countryside and the Forest of Dean in his early years to his popular paintings of County Down harbours, villages and horse fairs.
