Juvenalis, Decimus Junius and Aulus Persius Flaccus. Iuuenalis. Persius. Venice: Aldo Manuzio, August 1501 Another copy. 8vo (161 x 97 mm). Italic type, 30 lines plus headline. collation: A-G8 H10 a8 b4: 78 unnumbered leaves. First initial rubricated in brown ink by an early hand, occasional early marginalia. (Scattered soiling, title-page somewhat worn with extended lower fore-edge, scattered neat repairs to blank margins.) binding: Modern brown morocco to style (168 x 101 mm), retaining most of a contemporary Venetian brown morocco binding, border of repeated arabesque in blind, central compartment with three gilt frames aligned vertically with gilt floral stamps in top and bottom frames, and gilt knot in center, traces of four pairs of ties. (Light edgewear.) provenance: Unidentified owner, early inscription, "Ad usu(m) Joannis Baptistae Cas… (?)," washed out of title — unidentified owner, deleted inscription on verso of title-page dated 1558 — unidentified owner, circular inkstamp "Biblioteca… Arezzo" surrounding a rearing horse on title-page. acquisition: Purchased from Bernard M.
