Ownership bookplate of James Corry Sherrard to front pastedown of both volumes, some offsetting to the first & last leaves of each book. 'Junius' was the pseudonym of an outspoken Whig politician who anonymously published letters critical of the government of King George III in the Public Advertiser between 1770 and 1772; his publisher, Sampson Woodfall, was tried for libel as the result of publishing the controversial polemic. Junius' identity has never been confirmed, but some scholars believe that politician Philip Francis was behind the letters.
