The transactions during the winter at Halifax in 1759. The arrival of Admiral Saunders with fleet against Quebec and an account of that expedition from Admiral Durell's first entering the River St Lawrence, to the Surrender of Quebec, and our return to England with Admiral Saunders', with detailed descriptions of the voyage, weather and topography including his impressions on arrival in New York 'an extream fine Place...expecially Long Island' (some spotting and fading, front free endpaper loose, binding rubbed). With a small manuscript book in red calf gilt with embossed cartouches, spine in compartments with raised bands, 90pp of script, notes 'On the situation, manners and government of France' and 'A breife description of what I have seen most remarkable in France', dedicated 'To the right Honourable my most deare mother the Lady Elizabeth Cope' by 'J.C.', bookplate of John Mordaunt Cope Esq.
