(54 x 43 cm.) in original carved and giltwood neoclassical frame Provenance John Holland (1734-1807) by whom left in a life interest to his widow and then in trust to the heirs of his relation, Joseph Bilbie (d. 1862, and by descent to his daughter, Mary Anne Bilbie (d. 1877), and by inheritance to her husband's nephew, Francis Hall (1856-1928), and by inheritance to his wife, Flora Caroline Hall, née Hamilton, (1865-1939); her sale, being the contents of Rivers Lea, Guelph, Ontario, Ward-Price & Co, Toronto, 23-28 September 1946, lot 719, from where acquired by the following, Private collection, Canada, by whom sold circa 1980, from where acquired by the following, Private collection, Guernsey.
