Jonas Lie (American, 1880-1940) In the Fields Near Plainfield Signed "Jonas Lie" l.r., identified on a handwritten label affixed to the backing paper. Mixed media on paper, 6 7/8 x 13 9/16 in. (17.5 x 34.5 cm), framed. Condition: Sheet laid down on paperboard mount. N.B. Handwritten labels now affixed to the backing paper indicate that the watercolor was given to Florella Foster Clark by Frances Elma Kenyon in 1915. The watercolor had belonged previously to Eliza Elma Kenyon. There is a label from Philip Swain, Picture Frames and Artists' Materials, Plainfield, New Jersey, on the reverse of the mounting board.
