John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough Two documents signed, and a document signed by Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough: i) Document signed, court martial proceedings against Captain James Ennis of Colonel Pocock's Regiment, for confining a soldier twice without informing a superior and using abusive language to an officer ("...The unanimous opinion of the Court is that the Prisoner is guilty … & sentence him to come from his confinement to the head of the Regt. Where he is to ask pardon of Sir Robert [Montgomery] in the most submissive manner acknowledging that he has been much in the wrong for using such expressions against and desiring him to forgive him and … sentence him to have half his pay stopped during the space of six months and the money to be applied (sic) to the use and relief of sick & wounded soldiers …"), 4 pages, folio, Averne le sec [France], 13 August 1711 ii) Document signed, as Master General of the Ordnance and Captain General of His Majesty's [George I's] Land Forces, a commission for an unnamed Bombardier in the Garrison of Annapolis Royal, countersigned by James Craggs as Secretary to the Ordnance, 1 vellum membrane, papered seal, 24 December 1714 iii) Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, document signed, receipt for her £500 quarterly pension from the Queen, on an order signed by Sidney Godolphin and by Henry Boyle, receipted by the Duchess on the verso, witnessed by Wm Wilson "for Mess. Coggs & Dann", 2 pages, folio, 17 January 1708
