Unknown, Republican Party, 1856. 5.125 x 7.5 in., 2pp. Printed in double columns. This pamphlet was produced in a number of Northern cities in favor of John Fremont's presidential campaign, with examples featuring slightly varying titles. The pamphlet urges Democrats to vote for Fremont, the new Republican Party's candidate, and claims that Buchanan and his Southern Democrat allies consider wage laborers to be no better than slaves. It states, in part, "This doctrine, which is so monstrous and shocking as almost to seem incredible," but it "is now openly avowed and defended by very many of the newspapers and of the public men of the South that support James Buchanan " Loss to lower right corner of front page.
