Designed by the Barclay Company in 1946 to commemorate Crawford's Academy Award-winnning performance in "Mildred Pierce," there are only a few of these mugs known to exist because the Academy did not like how the Oscar was being represented so production was stopped. The manufacturer's stamp of Hollywood Mugs by Barclay appears on the bottom of this whimsical piece which now displays some minor repair work around the head of the Oscar, though its overall condition is not affected.
