A fantastic surreal landscape by Jerry Uelsmann which is one of his most famous photo montages. It presents a Victorian like study room with desk and removes the ceiling to reveal a stunning cloudy sky above. A tiny person is seen standing on the desk on a piece of paper. This composition was achieved in the brilliant montage work, done in the darkroom by hand, rejecting the digital process and post production methods via computer software programs that many photographers use now. Jerry Uelsmann (American, b. 1934) Born in Detroit in 1934, Jerry Uelsmann is known for his pioneering work with the photomontage technique. Uelsmann graduated with a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology and MFA and MS degrees from Indiana University. His use of image manipulation creates surreal photographs that are both spiritual and thought-provoking, much of it before the advent of PhotoShop. Uelsmann’s accolades include a Fellowship from the Guggenheim and the National Endowment for the Arts. He is a founding member of the Society of Photographic Education and a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. Uelsmann’s photographs have been exhibited in more than 100 shows internationally. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MOMA in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the George Eastman House Museum of Photography, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Bibliotheque National in Paris, the National Museum of American Art in Washington, the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Condition Mounted to archival board, in overall very good condition. Sie haben Interesse an diesem Objekt? Vorgebot abgeben
