"While the fundamental purpose of Art is still knowledge and invention, the Australian landscape remains, for me, a model of the most individual and beautiful kind. I would hope that after an intuitive response to the landscape this purpose would further individualise my paintings, creating a sense of place, and metaphors that are equivalent of reality rather than a reproduction" (Artist's Statement, p. 76) Estimate $6,000-8,000 Condition: Work is in overall good condition. The lines of the reverse painting are evident in the vertical centre of the work. Very slight marks seen in the sky, potentially from handling in the framing process.
