Engraved frontispiece portrait of Jefferson, large folding engraved map of Virginia, woodcut of Mdison's Cave, folding plate and folding chart (map loose, browning). Contemporary calf, flat spine with red morocco label (hinges starting, rubbed, corners worn). Provenance : T.J. Jefferson Coolidge Jr., bookplate. Appendices include Charles Thomson's commentary; Jefferson's draught of a fundamental constitution for Virginia; Papers on the murder of Logan's family; Jefferson's first inaugural address, 4 March 1801.
