Albumen cabinet card of former Confederate President Jefferson Davis (1808-1889) in a studio setting, on mount signed and dated, "Jefferson Davis 1867." Although lacking a studio imprint, the photograph was produced by Anderson & Co., Richmond, VA, shortly after Davis' release from Fortress Monroe in 1867. This is one of the first images taken following his imprisonment. Condition: Remnants of adhesive along bottom edge of card (likely a result of being matted previously?). Crease in top left corner of cabinet card. Signature a little light, but remains legible.
