28" nagasa. 40" overall with tsuka and saya. Traditional Japanese shinogi-zukuri blade with katana style mounts and a two hole tang that appears to be signed with a Nini Mei (two character) Nagamitsu signature. Appears Shinto. Hamon is weak. Item features a tsuka with white same and black ito. Fuchi, menuki, and kabuto-gane possibly iron, with gold accented relief designs. Fuchi shows cherry blossoms, menuki appears to be a dragon or sea serpent, and kabuto-gane shows a scene with what appears to be a peacock. Seppa appear to be copper brass, with two piece brass habaki, and a brass mekugi peg. Double pierced tsuba is shaped like a four leaf clover and appears to be iron. Saya appears to be polished rayskin and is two joined pieces that appear to have separated and are held together with three sections of tape wrapping. Saya has an old sticker label on it with obscured writing that appears to read, "Nagamitsu/tangs m-----/koi koto/1400". Condition: Good. Blade has some light mottled discoloration and a few small clusters of pin point pit marks. Blade has a bite about a quarter of the way down from kissaki. Saya has losses to rayskin exterior, and has separated and is now held together by sections of wrapped tape. Brass furnishings show scratching and some light oxidation. Tsuba has heavy pit marks.
