(Books & Works on Paper including Aviation & Transport, 31st July 2020) Photography.- Japan, China & Hong Kong Photography.- Japan, China & Hong Kong The Royal Navy in the Far East, two photograph albums, the first with c.114 photographic images of the devastation caused by an earthquake at The Kanda Bushi, the Imperial Palace, and other places in and around Tokyo and Yokohama also showing burnt bodies and many fallen buildings. It follows on to show life in Wei-Hai-Wei modern-day Weihai, (north-east China), views of the Great Wall, images c. 85 x 65mm; The second album show HMS Titania, a Submarine Depot Ship, which provided supplies to, and accommodation for, the submarines and their crews, as well as HMS Marazion, built as a minesweeper, and later converted to a submarine tender. The photographs show torpedoes being hoisted aboard ships, submarines on manoeuvres, and a couple of shots of submarines in dry dock in Hong Kong, the also include postcards mainly focus on Malta and Port Said this album has c. 170 images and include slightly larger images of Japanese girls, images c. 60 x 80mm & 75 x 110mm., the firs album loose leaves with cloth covers pages laced together, the second album leather loose leaves laced together, slightly worn, [c. 1920's]
