JACOB BEN ASHER (1270-1340). [ Arba'ah Turim ]. Tur Orach Chayyim . MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM [Ashkenaz, 15th century] 186 x 150 mm. On vellum with equalized sides. 325 fols., lacking a few index leaves at the beginning (according to the Hebrew foliation), and the text from section 677 onward. Brown ink. Ashkenazic semi-cursive script. Marginal annotations in different hands, various later scribbles and drawings. (Some tears, occasionally affecting some text, corner of slightly damaged last leaf restored, no loss of text, soiled, text occasionally slightly faded, not affecting legibility.) Modern blind and gold-tooled brown morocco, two modern paper flyleaves at back and front. CONTENTS: Fols. 1r-11v: index, starting with section 217, ending with section 700; 12r-325v: text, ending with section 676. This code of law exists in numerous manuscripts. PROVENANCE: 1. Israel ben Moses Mendeles Avigdors and his son-in-law Meir (f. 1r). 2. Avigdor ben David (f. 5r). 3. Daniel Itzig (stamped).
