A FINE COLLECTION OF FIRST EDITION HARRY POTTER BOOKS, WITH EXCEPTIONAL PROVENANCE. Each copy has been owned since publication by the former Publisher of Bloomsbury Children's Books (1997-2011), who joined the publishing house just after the first book was signed, and who was an instrumental figure in the growth of the Potter phenomenon into a global literary sensation. The collection includes a coveted first edition paperback issue of the Philosopher's Stone. This paperback issue of 5,150 copies was released simultaneously with the 500 hardback copies, both of which are confirmed by Bloomsbury to have been published on 26 June 1997. Also included are first and second states of the Prisoner of Azkaban. The former of which is extremely scarce (with around 500 copies thought to have been produced), and features a misprint in the form of a dropped section of text on page 7, which was corrected in the second state. Other highlights are the two copies of Deathly Hallows: one signed and featuring Rowling's holographic authentication sticker, the other with a delightfully personal early inscription (“to Sarah, with love and thanks for everything, Jo”), dated 21 July 2007, one day after the launch event for Harry's final Hogwarts outing.
