J. David Broudo Modern Studio Pottery Floor Vase, Beverly, Massachusetts, mid to late 20th century, marked "Broudo," ht. 19 1/2, dia. 12 in. Note: Joseph David Broudo (1920-) graduated from Alfred University with a degree in Ceramic Art and Design in the 1940s. He taught at Endicott College, where he was the director of the art program for over 48 years. During the summers he also taught at the Festival House School in Lenox, Massachusetts. Currently he holds Professor Emeritus status at Endicott College. Broudo has worked in various mediums such as enamel, painting, and pottery. A portion of his exhibition record includes: Berkshire Museum, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, 1958; N.E. Craft Show, Boston Public Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, 1959; Festival House, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, 1960; Tyringham Art Galleries, Berkshire Hills, Massachusetts, 1963 and 1969. He exhibited at the Nationals in 1946, 1950, 1952, 1954, 1956, 1960, 1962, 1964 and 1968. His work is in the Prieto Collection, Mills College, Oakland, California, as well as several private and public collections around the world.
