Italy and area extensive and worthwhile collection in two Scott specialty albums plus extra on stock pages and in envelopes, most areas of Italian philately are present to some extent, it starts with a modest amount of Italian States showing all of the states in mixed condition, the major portion of the value is found in Italy proper and Italian colonies, Italy starts with mostly used in the early unified issues but quickly mint starts to appear in the 1880s and the primary collection is a mint one however in the late 19th century through the 1930s many are collected both mint and used, this includes many of the better commemorative sets, while some values are missing the collection is very comprehensive to 1980, semi-postals and air posts are similarly collected plus other back-of-the-book issues as pneumatic post stamps, special deliveries, newspaper stamps, postage dues and parcel posts, there is a good section of Aegean Island issues including those for the individual islands, one volume is largely devoted to the Italian Colonies which is largely mint with fewer extra used than Italy proper, many better complete sets are present with strength in Eritrea, Libia and Somalia, we also note offices abroad including some better offices in Tientsin, there are also occupation issues of various countries occupied by Italy as well as allied occupation of Italy after WWII and a nice comprehensive Trieste collection mostly collected never hinged with better parcel posts, condition varies in the early issues with some unused without gum, however most are o.g. or used and never hinged start in the 1930s and will be found scattered throughout becoming more prominent as the collection progresses being all n.h. in the modern, overall most are fine-very fine and a great amount of useful material is contained in this collection; examination will prove worthwhile to appreciate the value that is here.
