Mrs. Griffith provides a vivid description of weather, sailing conditions and life on board. At St. Helena they visit Napoleon's tomb at Longwood (Jacob's Ladder stone staircase made her dizzy so they did not ascend it). The diary ends abruptly suggesting that something unforeseen may have happened.
