Description: Imperial German State of Baden Artillery / Light Cavalry Officers Dress Sword, fine example of a regulation pattern sword for the state of Baden, having patterned langet, plain steel guard and ribbed top pommel. Composite grip retaining the original wire binding. Housed in its steel scabbard with hanging mounts. Curved blade with beautiful blue and gilt etched panel spanning three quarter length of the blade. The panel is etched with foliage and trophy of arms to both sides. The blade remains in near mint condition. Blade measures 82 ½ cms, overall 98cms. Some dents and a small crack in the scabbard but otherwise a fine example. Categories: WW1 German Militaria
