Reprinted after his assassination in 1865, with excerpted quote reading, "But if this country cannot be saved without giving up that principle, I was about to say I would rather be assassinated upon this spot than surrender it," printed beneath an allegorical Liberty weeping over Lincoln's casket, with lamenting Civil War veterans present on either side. Also with a an engraving, 15 x 20.5 in. (sight), framed to 30 x 33.5 in., by William Sartain Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1865 of a standing Lincoln, as well as a reproduction print, 18 x 21.75 in. (sight), framed to 23.75 x 28 in., after the 1860 Lincoln portrait by Peter Alexander Healy (American, 1813-1894), the model for the postage stamp commemorating the sesquicentennial of Lincoln's birth.
