Includes laid-in typed letter signed by Stokes dated 28 Dec. 1915 regarding “the well-deserved tribute to Mr. [Edwin B.] Holden contained in the Preface to my book.” Howes S-1026. Original mottled roan, top edges gilt (rebacked in mottled calf preserving original spines, some wear, with leather flaking on spines); cloth slipcases (worn). Provenance: Alice C.
