This is the first edition illustrated by Christopher a Sichem. The emblems represent two children, Anima (the soul) and Divine Love (Baby Jesus) depicting the search of the human soul for holiness. The texts are mainly from the Song of Songs and the Psalms, the emblem explanations are in neo-Latin verse.
