HORAE, use of Rome, in Latin -- Hore divine virginis Marie, secundum usum Romanum . Paris: Germain Hardouin [n.d., almanac for 1520-1532]. PRINTED ON VELLUM. 8° (167 x 110mm). Collation: A -M 8 . Full-page Hardouin device on title, metalcut anatomical man with 4 smaller cuts on title verso, 20 full-page metalcuts, and 12 small metalcuts, all with CONTEMPORARY HAND-COLOURING, red-ruled gold painted border to each page, liquid gold initials and line-filler on pink or blue ground. (A few extreme lower margins slightly extended, some rubbing to colouring, a little light soiling.) Contemporary French calf over wooden boards, sides tooled with vertical rows of floral rolls (somewhat worn, rebacked, missing two clasps). Provenance : bookplates removed and defaced at front -- J.A. Pau, priest (bookplate). Lacombe 304 (a few variants from Lacombe's transcription); Brunet Heures 254.
