NUREMBERG, 1720-1787 5 volumes, folio (520 x 330mm.), 308 mostly double-page engraved maps and plans by Homann, Homann Heirs, Visscher, De Wit Schenk, Allard and others, contemporary hand colour, a few small neat library stamps not affecting maps, various contemporary bindings (see below), see note below for condition of maps, some bindings rubbed The five volumes comprise: 1. Atlas Germaniae specialis, seu Imperium Romano-Germanicum. Nuremberg, 1753-1754, engraved title (heightened in gold), index, 3 printed dedications with engraved headpieces, double-page table and 115 (of 125) double-page engraved maps (according to index), contemporary body colour, cartouches fully coloured, contemporary red morocco gilt, gilt edges, green morocco label "Atlas Germaniae", some marginal soiling and fraying, a few maps split at folds 2. Atlas Helvetiae. Nuremberg, [1769], engraved index "Atlas novus, Reipublicae Helveticae", 40 double-page engraved general and regional maps of Switzerland by Lotter, Seutter, Valk and Schenk, including the Canton maps after Gabriel Walser, contemporary body colour, contemporary mottled calf, red morocco label on spine "Atlas Helvetiae" 3. [Italy and Austria], composite atlas without title-page, 18 maps, contemporary body colour, contemporary calf-backed boards, vellum corners, tan morocco label on spine "Geograph", a few maps becoming loose 4. [Great Britain and the Netherlands], composite atlas without title-page, 68 maps on 71 mapsheets, plan of Gravenhage in black and white, maps in contemporary body colour, contemporary half calf, tan morocco label on spine, 3 maps backed, a few maps strengthened at corners 5.
