HOKKEI: kakuban surimono (21.2 x 18.1cm.); Hi Sokomei , "Fire- Sokomei", picturing the Chinese warrior Tsung Chiang-Ming (in Japanese, Motosei , hence misspelled on the print) in a peacock cloak standing by a hanging lantern, which represents the 'fire' of the title, from the series Suiko gogyo "The Five Elements and the Suikoden", for the Hanazonoren poetry group, poem by Kokyoen Umekado [indicating the second edition of the print], signed Go Hokkei --very good impression, good color, slight water stain and glue residue lower left corner, silver and bronze dust and gauffrage embellishments; together with another kakuban surimono (20.9 x 18.3cm.); Haiku-ume "Haiku plum" from the series Hanazono bantsuki "Series for the Hanazono group", a still life of a bronze lantern, temple votive plaque and a branch of plum, poem above the still life by Ichidaen Ebira, signed Hokkei --very good impression, slightly faded, some light stains, right edge nicked (2)
