Hogarth (William) An album of 160 prints by and after Hogarth, including 'A Harlot's Progress', 'A Rake's Progress', 'Marriage A-la-mode', 'The Four Stages of Cruelty' with the two accompanying woodcuts by John Bell 'Beer Street' and 'Gin Lane', 'Election Entertainment', 'The Four Times of the Day', and many others, including Robert Dunkarton's mezzotint of 'Sigismunda' after Hogarth, engravings, etchings, woodcuts, and one mezzotint, later impressions on thick laid paper, some on wove, the majority well inked clear impressions, but lacking margins and trimmed within the platemarks, neatly pasted onto wove paper album leaves watermarked 'J RUSE 1804', each album leaf approx. 610 x 480 mm. (24 x 18 7/8 in), some occasional spotting and surface dirt, diced russia, gilt, upper cover detached, worn, folio, [circa 1725 and later, but probably ca. 1790-1820].
