Illustrated. Original blue cloth. INSCRIBED BY HOBBS. --- A group of 5 pamphlets related to Nordenskiöld, bound in one volume. -- A group of 33 Royal Geographical Society papers bound in one volume (1910-14). -- HOUBEN, H.H. The Call of the North. London: Elkin Mathews & Marrot, 1932. Original blue cloth. And others. Together, 43 works in 6 volumes, all 8vo, condition generally very good. Provenance: William Herbert Hobbs (bookplates and stamps). Hobbs was a professor at the Universities of Wisconsin and Michigan who led four expeditions to Greenland. Hobbs gained notoriety in 1909, when he denounced as fraud Dr. Frederick A. Cook’s claim of having reached the North Pole.
