HIROSHIGE (1797-1858): three oban tate-e (35.3 x 24.6cm., 36.4 x 24.6cm., 37.8 x 25.5cm.), three oban yoko-e (23.1 x 35.6cm., 23.5 x 36.1cm. and 25.1 x 37.4cm.); the first, Meguro, Moto Fuji from the series Meisho Edo hyakkei "One hundred views of famous places in Edo", signed Hiroshige ga , published by Uoya Eikichi, another, Hamamatsu from the series Gojusan tsugi meisho zue "The fifty-three famous views (of the Tokaido)" (the upright Tokaido series), signed Hiroshige hitsu , published by Tsutaya Kichizo; the third Yoshida from the same series as above, signed Hiroshige hitsu , published by Tsutaya Kichizo; and another, Kawasaki from the Reisho Tokaido series, signed Hiroshige ga ; the fifth Hiratsuka with three travellers crossing a road; and the last, Shirasuka with a view of the sea and of Shiomi slope, both from the series "Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido", signed Hiroshige ga , published by Hoeido/Senkakudo--good impressions, slightly faded and soiled, centre fold mark to the fourth, first and fourth margins and seals partly trimmed, fifth and sixth, margin trimmed (6)
