Provenance : partly effaced 18th-century inscription on first page, a few 18th-century marginalia (cropped) -- excised inscription and deleted inkstamp on first page. The letters of St. Jerome were greatly prized by humanist readers. 21 pre-1501 editions are recorded, and dozens more appeared in the following century.
