HET BRITANNISCHE RYK IN AMERIKA AMSTERDAM, RUDOLF EN GERARD WETSTEIN, 1721 Covered in red leather, First Dutch edition of Oldmixon's The British empire in America (London, 1708) and the only edition of this work to contain the appended essay on coffee and coffee plantations including three plates showing the coffee tree. It was published anonymously as was the case with the English original edition. This Dutch version was translated from the French and edited by Rudolf and Gerard Wetstein The first part deals with the Eastern states of the USA from Hudson-Bay to Carolina and is enriched with 5 maps of New Foundland (1), New England, New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania (2), Virginia & Maryland (3) Carolina and Bermuda (4) and North America, depicting California as an island (5); Het Britannische ryk in Amerika, zynde een beschryving van de ontdekking, bevolking, inwoonders, het klimaat, den koophandel, en tegenwoordigen staat van alle de Britannische colonin, in dat gedeelte der wereldt.
