Henry Cockburn's final England international shirt: a white No.6 shirt worn in the match v France at Highbury 3rd October 1951, by St Blaize, button-up long-sleeved issue with England Three Lions Badge inscribed beneath V FRANCE, 1951-52, unwashed with consequent staining; sold with a signed letter of provenance from the present vendor (2) This friendly game ended as a 2-2 draw. This was to prove to be Henry Cockburn's final match for England, with the Manchester United player losing the competition for the No.6 shirt with Portsmouth's Jimmy Dickinson. Manchester United's Henry Cockburn won a total of 13 caps between 1946 and 1951, a figure almost certainly restricted by the suspension of full international football between 1939 and 1946.
