HEINRICH FRIEDRICH FÜGER (AUSTRO-GERMAN, 1751-1818) Dr Andrea Perula, wearing a grey cloak with blue lining, red waistcoat, powdered hair Signed and dated ‘Füger. p. 1783.’ (lower right) On ivory Oval, 115 mm. high, rectangular giltwood frame The inscription on the wood panel on the reverse of the frame is slightly rubbed but is transcribed in A. Stix, H. F. Füger , Vienna and Leipzig, 1925, p. 83 as ‘ Retratto del Sig. D. Andrea Perula di anni 52 fatto da M r Federico Ficher [sic] Pittore Tedesco, che fece i Ritratti die S a M a la Regina e sua famiglia e fece la stanza dello studio, della Regina nel Real palazzo i par mi si meritò somma lode e tal son a Vienna direttore di quell Accademia con uno soldo correspondente al suo meritò. Anno 1783.
