If you have any additional information which I ought to have please send it here...."; Autograph letter signed ("R.B. Hayes") as President, to Hon. Wayne MacVeagh, Executive Mansion, Washington, D.C., 28 October 1877, one page, large 8vo, integral blank, on imprinted "Executive Mansion" stationery, thanking MacVeagh for "your suggestions and valued letter. Mr. Everts has been much misrepresented in this affair, but I take it the truth will gradually find its way to the public without special action on his part.
