A sound copy, very minor soiling but the cover gilt bright, spine a trifle dulled with slight wear to head and toe, ownership inscription on front endpaper. A nonpareil American juvenile classic. BAL notes three states (which, as the editors say, are probably printings). This copy conforms to the first state, with the "presumptive" reading on page 9, and the correct ads (no mention of this title).
