Half-titles, and titles in red and black, photogravure frontispieces, folding "Map of the Wessex of the Novels and Poems" at end of each volume, one or two closed marginal tears; some toning and minor offsetting. Uniformly bound in contemporary full green polished calf, covers with multiple gilt rules, spines with raised bands in six compartments, second and third with gilt-lettered brown labels, others with repeat overall filigree motif in gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut, inner dentelles gilt, marbled endpapers; spines uniformly sunned, rubbing primarily to joints and spines, a few nicks to spines resulting in loss of calf, some occasional uneven fading to covers, one or two nicks and stains to covers. The volumes lacking are those printed after 1913 ('A changed Man' [1914], 'Satires of Circumstance', 'Moments of Vision' [1919], 'Late Lyrics and Earlier', 'The Famous Tragedy of the Queen of Cornwall' [1926], 'Human Shows', 'Winter Words' [1931]). The first 20 volumes were issued two per month, these following four were printed at irregular intervals thereafter.
