.36 caliber, 34" octagonal barrel, end of muzzle turned round for a false muzzle. Patent breech, barrel is held to the stock by double wedge. Forward-action percussion lock. Checkered front and rear stock. Walnut stock with cheek piece. German silver tip, steel patchbox, buttplate, toeplate with finials, fancy triggerguard with checkering on the finger rest and finials front and back. Wrist area is fitted for a post-style tang sight. Barrel and lock marked W.O. Mickok. Provenance: Merrill P. Deer Collection Condition: Barrel retains most of the original brown finish, but thinning. Breech and tang with a blue-to-grey mottled look. Lock and hammer with a light brown and some salt and pepper pitting, but very fine. Markings are very sharp and clear. All metal parts on the stock have a nice light brown finish. Stock is very sharp and crisp with excellent lines. This is an outstanding rifle and very seldom seen in this condition.
