.56 caliber, 32" octagonal barrel, no S/N. Brass buttplate, butt moulding, patch box, side plates, triggerguard, forend cap and ramrod pipes. Inlay on cheek piece and silver pin escutcheons. Blade front sight with notch rear sight. Lockplate marked "A.W. SPIES, WARRANTED" in two lines. Thee lines of inlay on rear of barrel. Condition: Fair condition. Barrel has an overall dark plum patina with some pitting and erosion near hammer. Some paint marks on left side of barrel forward of stock. Brass fittings have an overall dull luster and mustard patina with some spots of darkening. Lockplate has numerous marks and dents, and appears to have been files or rasped near the rear end behind hammer. Hammer holds at half cock and functions normally. Bore fair.
